KT has joined hands with Woori Bank to expand their collaborative launch of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered finance services. Under the partnership, the mobile carrier launched a new finance service Monday, allowing its GiGA Genie set-top box users to make basic financial transactions on TV via voice. Users may check their bank accounts, pay utility bills and transfer money to others’ accounts via voice transactions. The move comes at a time when the AI rivalry is toughening in the tech sector here, with mobile carriers seeking to grab the upper hand in the emerging and lucrative business.
